yeah yeah, i know i know, i need/must update and change my blog design for the new fukin year. but just got back on sunday nite, unpacked all, checked on over 100+ emails, updated resume and spoke with 2 job contacts, and did a bunch of shite today with karen, baked a haupia cake from scratch with my brand new fukin' pink kitchenaid mixer(woo-hoo!) then worked on a simple blog for kat, so can only add this right now... For those who still dont know what to get me and love my broke ass soo much to get me a belated gift for my old-lady-day, here's a quick wishlist to help you out. please check repeatedly cuz i've already changed it a few times today considering some have already spoken on spoiling me with stuff, blah blah blah blah... The bar on friday nite was soo kool! It's a real gem with kool peeps, excellent bartenders, and a killer jukebox. Pitchers were bought, and drinks were flowing. Lena (ex-coworker), gave me a small strawberry cigar as a goodbye present for me departing the Adville, to which i busted it out to pass around the gang to enjoy. The policy at the joint was real speak-easy like. Just so happened, though, that the fire marshals were making their rounds and we all had to lay low a bit. I had a great buzz going by the end of the nite and some killer pictures to show off.. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) Sat, I pretty much vegged out and battled Dy on Katamari Damacy till the wee-hours, and paused only to watch the Venture Bros. Sunday, Rudi, Mong, and I headed out to Bazaar Bizarre on Melrose to shop. It was fun, but super crowded. Lots of cool trinkets and wears to buy. Tomorrow, i have to haul ass and pack for the trip back home, clean up my current abode, shop for last minute gifts for peeps, and take care of any last minute details. Oh nah, my packing anxiety is creeping up on me... God, it's ovah. It's all OVAH! No more work at AdVille for miss thea! Just like to say, I feel great! I feel so irresponsible for leaving a job, not another one, but to jet off to hawaii and veg out and tan for like a month. Soooo Punk Rawk! And yet, i feel as though i deserve it. I owed it to myself to break the bonds. And actually, it was harder then I thought! The job was cushy, and even though the work sucked royal ass (i pretty much made nothing i could deep down honestly be proud of..) the people weren't all that bad. A bit more drama and less wierdo then i'd like it to be, but at least no one was bi-polar or created beefs with me. The locale was good, lots of choices to eat for lunch (my 2 faves: L&L and indian buffet) and i never felt the crunch of LA traffic. So, if you look at it this way, I would say, it took some courage to do what i did. I removed myself from a 'safety/comfort zone' to strive to better my life (I hope to dear god*) And time will tell to see if i did the right thing or not. Mental note, better check my horror-scope before jettin' to tha bar for a post celebration trashing with Rudi, D-Luv, and a bunch o' monkeys! K, i just endured the freakiest experience. I borrowed Robert's Colette cd to rip and as i was converting it to mp3s, i decided to watch the Danger Mouse 'Grey' video link that Rudi sent me. And as i was watching the retro-ish beatles vid, i found it wierd but interesting. And when it was ovah, the musik kept playing. i kept telling myself during the viewing, the song is good, but doesn't sound like the beatles nor jay-z. The goddamn colette cd was playing over the track! But the freaky thing was that it matched the video perfectly! Even like when they cut to the more crazy stuff, a break 'happened'. I started to get one of my freakouts when dy called. Sigh... so guess an update is over due. Dy came back from VA and brought me a game called Katamari Damacy. It's hella strange yet addicting. I'm this little prince and i have to roll this tiny-ass ball around, collecting shite all over the world to build a star. Damn japanese weirdos... Ate at the Red Lion in Silverlake. They have awesome german food. Went to the neversoft company party in Vegas on thursday. Got to stay at the 'in-transition-to-become-hip-and-trendy' Treasure Island (they want you to call it Ti, wierd i know). Lost 20$ gambling, proceeded to get a dehydration headache and became a bummer the rest of the nite. Mostly spent time sleeping in the hotel room cuz i couldn't get trashed like the others. Andy must have told the world that i was sick, cuz the next morning, everyone and their mom's was askin' if i was feeling better. geezus* Almost completed the Xmas cards for my beloved friends and fam, will post a cute picture of it after i send them out. Did a bit o' shoppin'. Had a fab feast at Grown-up Mong and Skillz' house. Catched up with Jess-ka and tried to help decorate their tree. Mong made killer turkey-meat balls and to-die-for cupcakes! Better then minez! (or should i say my crappy Nigella receipe) 3/4ths done with the scarf i started on thanksgiving. And started reading The Da Vinci Code(FINALLY Gawd-damn-it!) ![]() p.s. i seem to *heart* -dashes- today In about 14 hours, I'll be on a plane to vegas for Dy's company's x-mas party. C-ya! So many tasks/events/sagas have unfolded. Take your pick to name it what you will. I prefer 'a small yet significant journey'. Thus far, the brave little heroine has come to a pivotal reststop long enough to jolt down some memories... Since my last questlog, I have: Gone to a magnificant feast at the Chow/Chen estates, started knitting a 'miss-stitched' scarf, & felt the need to visit dear Miss K-Bear secluded in her tower in the Hollywood hills. Slept in till the sunny-but-chilly afternoons of a long holiday, winter cleaned the home quarters, started on x-mas cards. Got pished on MandarinO and partied with the Orangefolk at Fancy Club and ate thai cuisine at 3am. The next day, my holiday cheer was in full swing as Miss K-Bear and I whipped up delicate loaves of ginger cake topped with shimmery lemon icing. Today, sadly decreed my parting to the tropical isles of hawaii to my supervisor, bought some holiday gifts on my list, donated a cute toy doggie to kids in need, and sold off Miss Kat's cursed furniture. And now? i'm pooped! Now that i actually have a set date of departure from the world of Adville, work is much more enjoyable with my 'no-can-do' attitude. I lie. Actually, because of a vacationing robert, I've been juggling a double workload. Plus trying to get all my errands done on the eastside makes me feel like such an achiever. For instance, today I: 1. got my oil changed 2. bought soda for the turkeyday fiesta at viv's 3. finished the wienerschnitzel premium designs 4. completed holiday cards/menus for company party 5. tons of little bullshit files that needed to be sent to tha' bitch (see previous entry) 6. did my rite aid shopping 7. debated over buying some of my friends' gifts online 8. cleaned up work area AND... vicki wanted to catch 'happy hour' at Nonya's in old pas. By her decree, we got to leave work an hour earlier and head over for a shite-load of appetizers and martini's. I had 2 that were tasty but not that strong. Drove home happy with a full belly. And to recap the madcap of saturday nite? Dy outdressed my ass buy wearing a suit. It was a cold and rainy nite. The place was kool, we were on the guestlist (free!). Lots of pretty people, bitchy girl bartenders, and drinks the usually jacked-up 10$ (but HELLA STRONG). Bonded with white beky. She kept buying drinks for me so her bill came up to 88$! Asian becky was blitz. We left and went to jack-n-a-crap. I got to try that long baguette sandwich thing and it totally hit the spot. Went home, passed out. owari I DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT! I broke free of the bonds that weighted me down for years (okay, 2 to be exact) and turned in my notice today to VW. Granted, i'll admit i was kind of edgy and after i did it, the boss was sad, and said some kind words, and i didn't have the heart to not tell her, "it wasn't the company(when it WAS), i just felt like i had to focus on pursuing a greater goal for my adult life..." The past 2 dayz had been hectic at work, we are understaffed since sticky-chan and Andrea left, and poor Beky was taking on 4 peoples jobs! Fukin' client was such a bitch, whenever she came on the phone, i'd flip it the bird. And me not having good timing, blurted out to Beky and Greene (after a horrible conference call with the Bitch) "I put in my resignation!" and did a little jig. Poor watry turned all red, said 'you're my favorite person in this place' and started to cry. I ran to her and gave her a hug, trying to lull her by saying i was there for 3 more weeks. Gawd, talk about an emotional rollercoaster! I ended up today feeling really bad for leaving, everyone seem kind of sad. So hopefully tomorrow nite we'll all meet up as planed at DEEP for Becky Chan's b-day celebration get real pished. My only worry is to find something kool to wear. I never have 'going out' clothes anymore... So I happened to check out Rudi's horoscope source, and are they good or what? Capricorn is known as the ambitious sign of the zodiac for good reason. Saturn, your ruler, teaches you that the most important successes are ones that come slowly, through arduous, focused effort. Sometimes it can take years to be promoted to the post you want, dear Capricorn. You aim high and you have extraordinary patience, and that's why you often hit your markyou keep working and stay focused long after others have given up. This month, which is associated with being thankful (in the United States we celebrate Thanksgiving), you may feel special gratitude when you are richly rewarded for years of hard work, devotion and intelligence. While every sign loves to hear of a promotion, career success means much more to you, dear Capricorn, for yours is the sign of drive and of thoughtful, caring leadership. Your friends will be the engine that will drive you forwardquite delightfullyall month, thanks to the appearance of a gorgeous new moon in your friendship sector on November 12. It appears that many new people will pour into your life this month. While you still love to hang out with your old pals, if you work with this trend, you'll make some new friends, too. If your birthday falls on or within five days of January 9, you will benefit doubly from this aspect. Certainly, no matter when your Capricorn birth date, November will not be a month to hide your light under a barrel. It's time to show your face to the world and be courageous enough to let others know your agenda. Mars will enter your eleventh house of friendship and social events on November 11, just one day before the new moon. This combination will make you recognize the flurry of social events that I am talking about! If you were interested in joining a group, professional organization or just about any kind of club (including a health club), do so just after this November 12 new moonit will pay dividends that will exceed your expectations. A new moon brings two weeks of energy, but what you do during that period (November 12-26) will create the tone for a whole year to come. There will be another day to watch: On November 19 you may benefit from the enormously sweet gesture of a friend due to a lovely collaboration between Saturn, your ruler, and the Sun. Life is all about balancing the pros and cons. So this evening i decided to do a little Ying/Yang action myself. *Cons* Cleaned out Mistress's litterbox. Ironed clothes. Cut toenails. Cooked dinner. *Pros* Cooked the rest of Kathy's dad's EXCELLENT roasted garlic pork and ate it like an animal. Wrote my resignation letter to be promptly handed over to Vicki tomorrow morning. Looking back, the pros definitely outweight the cons. I feel like i should do more icky chores to restore the balance a bit more, but i'm feelin' sluggish. Below? Pictures of miniature food toys created by japanese people that me and karen bought in jtown. I feel an obsessive collection coming on* ![]() I *HEART* *HEART* *HEART* SF!! The trip was grand. I gained 3 pound in 5 dayz, and am okay with that. Here was how the quest turned out: Thursday - Headed out late after buying gifts for my cousins' babies (round 1pm-ish). Hauled ass, in a partly rainy drive, make it into SF round 9pm-ish only to get excited driving on a lit bridge that we actually drove through and on to Berkeley. Duhhhh... Got tasty sushi for supper and saw a bus take out a busstand due to miscalculated driving. Awesome Friday - Did the Metron' and MoMa (all 5 frickin' floors of glorious art) which housed a Roy Litchenstein exhibit *heart*. Ate yums italian for dinner. Met up with Candra and her friend at the Lucky 13 and realized how traumatized we were by LA bar prices. 2 well drinks for 10$??!?! We drank up. Saw Jana and her girl at the bar downstairs, said a 'elloo!' Then hauled ass to meet Jacky and friends at Amber where more drinking and chatting ensued. Dy had an 'encounter' with a busboy in the loo where he promptly kicked him out. Bizzare. When later in the evening he aproached Andy again telling him,'you never saw me in there'. heh. Saturday - Kicked it in Sunnyvale with my cousins', cousins' kids, and my sweet Aunty Kim. Everyone warmed up to Dy. Chloe kept staring at me, and whenever they tried to bring her close to me, she would start to cry. Poo-poo* Such a cute and chubby baby she is! Dan's boys are a rawdy bunch, and Steph is pretty spacey as evah. Good ol' family genes... Grabbed some touristy dinner in Chinatown with a view. Sunday - Meet up with Jana and Blake for a hearty brunch in the Mission. Did a bit of shopping downtown and run into Joni-cutie. She was all decked out with these crazy tatts! Too bad i didn't kick it with her and chris a bit more. Then met up with a couple of Dy's friends for dinner in Little Italy. Downed 2 bottles of wine with the meal. Rode around in a Mini! *HEART* And Vince showed us Shaba studios. Later that nite, met up with JT and Tanner, his cutie bf, and headed to the Castro for some bar/clubbing. Went to The Bar for bootie/hiphop nite where it left me glowing with faggy praises/compliments, and Dy scarred for life. He claims to have seen sights, no straight man should ever witness. But all it really was, was a shirtless guy shakin' his bootie all ovah on the raised platform. We left within 20mins downing our drinks. Monday - Got lunch at Cafe Claude which i would recommend to everybody. Very frenchy and tasty. Did some last minute shopping at Diesel with Jackyt helping me out, bought some blingy chocolates at RichArt. And both decided to drive back a day early. Thus a long ass drive ensued till we hit Solvang, the Danish colony/village of the USA. It was wierd. We at meatballs and sausages with mash/gravy for dinner. The town looked like it was made out of gnome-homes. What an exciting evening! I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later, being it's on the news almost religiously every other nite... As i was waiting patiently like the others for the light to turn so i could take my cutoff on to the 134, a red car zoomed behind me, then to the side of me, followed by 7 police cars! He freakin' cut off everybody, and got on the onramp, and took off on the freeway. I was so close, i swear he was gonna sideswipe my ass* k, gotta go cook rice, watch Smallville, make hotel reservations, buy a road map of SF, poke Mistress in the butt, and pack for tha trip. byee.... Tickets home - Check vaccum apt - Check cook left over spam and bacon - Check call relatives in SF - Check find doo-doo in my closet/clean litterbox - Check Yay, one more day till we head for our SF roadtrip, one more month till i'm outtah here! Ho-hum... Here's the update bout mon weekend... Started with friday nite, we checked out UNKLE spinnin' a set at Pearls in w-hollywood. Haven't been to a dance club in ages, let alone a femme' one to boot. It was kool, got caught up on all the house anthems which i promptly downloaded the next day like a good klubkid. The place was oversold, mostdef, cuz it was almost unbreathable. Mong got ripped pretty good, claimed to be psychic, and made up stories about the people infront of us. Some of them were right in front making me feel kind of awkward when she's yellin' in my ear about 'THE GAY BLACK DUDE IN FRONT OF US' when he probably could hear it as well. Went with her to the lavi to puke (her not me). Some hoochie before us took a hellofa long time in there, making us assume she was doing lines as well as everone else in queue (only one toliet for girls? good god), that it turned into a confrontation with some other pissed off chic. The yelling match was scary, and all us girls made way for a catfight to happen, but luckily they took it outside... Sat, me painted and went to see the incredibles. Unfortunately, we got there a bit late and had to sit in the 2nd row, but it still was an awesome movie. Today, i had to frickin' drive to work, get files and drop them off at the Hobbit's house. gawd, i'm soo glad i'm almost outta there. Thank ye gods for this upcoming road trip. Oh yeah, and i worked on the painting summore... i must say, it's coming out so purrdy! Oh yeah, mental note i have'ta buy my tickets home for xmas by TOMORROW before they skyrocket* OMG Etsu! I want these! Especially the left one cuz it looks like Ross! (sadao) Get it when you go back! ![]() i feel defeated, oh so depleted. So here are my options:< Montreal, Vancouver, or Tokyo 'God bless high-speed' Or let me rephrase that, 'God bless ye soulseek' and all of it's endeavors. If I only knew now, what I knew then; my youth would not have been wasted on the young... ![]() oh yeah, i guess i am an american Happy Halloween! I'm so disappointed in myself this year, for I did not get into the spirit of things, and there was no partying or dressup for miss thea. Poo! But on the upside, i have now joined the the real world in high speed internet. Jacky was right, I feel oh-the-more-smarter now with the instant access. The only big headache is switching over my aol account so i can cancel that suckah'. I'm so sik of the election. can we all just get it over with and move on? and i'm turning into a mind-numbing zombie at work, steadily churning out crap like some crossbreed of an ant drone & dung beatle. It's like i'm in an anti mood, which doesn't make sense, cuz i'm way past the teenage rebellion bracket. my only outlet so far is painting... Dy and i bought pumpkins a hella long time ago, in a far away land, and had been taking up residence on my kitchen counter for almost a month. We got 2, one typical orange (minez) and Dy was freaked out, wanting to get a white one. He exclaimed, "Look, it's us!" (What a dork) Anywayz... tonight, there was an onslaught of orange massacre. We did our sadistic Halloween-e ritual, and I even went so far as to roast their babies and ate them while watching the Venture Bros.(how yummy it turned out!) So here's our outcome. In my opinion, I won this carvin' contest hands down... ![]() It finally happened. The cat bit my lip. Here's proof (and now that i did it, i find posting a picture of just my lips just a tad wierd... so i took it off) I feel like one of those crazies who obsesses over some corporate/consumer packaged teenybopper. Damn it, guilty endulges... yes, i *heart* the Dandys And Happy Birthday Mong-chi-chi! |
